Meanwhile, Whistler has an emotional reunion with Sofia at the visitor's cage. She says the book was taken by Scofield's brother. Putting the pieces together, he says it's okay that Lincoln has the book. She really doesn't know what's important about the book, and Whistler won't tell, to her frustration. How can she help him if she doesn't know what's going on? As she signs out, she sees Lincoln's address, logged when he visited Michael.

Sara, speaking in code（暗示说）, lets him know that "Santa Rita" means "Saint Rita" – the patron saint of lost causes. She's not in Santa Rita – she can SEE St. Rita from wherever she is. Michael, with T-Bag's help, just barely manages to get the phone back into the charger before Lechero returns – but not firmly enough. The charger light isn't on. Lechero knows something's up（知道发生了什么事）, and hits redial（重拔） – and gets Linc. Linc doesn't speak, just hangs up. Lechero has the number researched.

Sofia catches up with Linc and finds he's helping break Whistler out of prison – and that he's being blackmailed into it. She's stunned; she thought Whistler was trying to get out legally, and that he's only a fisherman. They take a cab to a monument of St. Rita, which is in the red light district. He finds where Sara and LJ are being held and charges in（冲进去）, but their guards spirit them away in a van.

When Sucre refuses to help, Linc enlists Sofia as a translator so he can make friends with the prison gravedigger. The gravedigger recognizes Sofia from the prison gates. Okay, they're going to have to try honesty.

Lechero, knowing Michael is an engineer, goes to him to see if he can help get the electricity back on. If Lechero's cell phone dies, he can't get any food into Sona and they'll all die. Michael says the electricity can only be repaired from No Man's Land, the area between the inner and outer gates of the prison, where any escaping prisoner is shot dead by tower guards. If he's going to trust that Lechero can protect him from the guards, he'll do it – but only in exchange for a specific corner cell – the first to get sunlight in the morning, he says. Bellick horns in, offering to help dig, and letting Michael know he overheard his conversations with Mahone. On the dig, Michael won't include Bellick in his plans. So Bellick goes to Lechero and tells him Michael's planning an escape, and that he saw Michael bury something in a junction box in No Man's Land. Lechero goes to Michael and demands to see what he buried. It's duct tape – to fix the frayed wires, says Michael. Time to turn the power back on; Lechero insists on coming along with Michael. They arrive in the main power room. There is a fusebox, where Michael has jammed McGrady's cross – this is what's really been keeping the electricity off. The main power switch won't work while the cross is there, and Michael can't get the cross without Lechero seeing（没有Lechero望风，Michael没法拿走那个十字架。）. So Lechero picks a fight with Sammy, during which he is able to surreptitiously（暗中地，秘密地） remove the cross. The power comes back on. Lechero, though suspicious, is satisfied for now（目前，暂时）.

Linc arranges to meet Susan and get $15,000 from her. Sofia insists on coming along; Linc refuses to let her. And he tells Sucre to get lost already if he's just gonna run off.

Mahone brings Michael a felt tip pen. Whistler doesn't understand why Michael repaired the electricity – now the electric fence, which hadn't been working in the first place – is back online. Michael says they'll escape by making the fence as deadly as possible.

Susan and Linc meet with the gravedigger; the money is to bribe him. He asks for more money; Susan shoots him dead.

The hallucinatory Haywire begins to urge Mahone to kill Michael. T-Bag brings Mahone some drugs, and he takes them to steady his shakes. He visits Michael in his new cell – which overlooks the electric fence – bringing him the black felt tip pen, which he'd left behind in his old cell. Now why would Michael do that? Full of new confidence and self-control, Mahone says he'll kill Michael if he's not included in the escape attempt.

Linc, still hiding that Sara's dead, tells Michael that the gravedigger's been killed – but Sucre is now the gravedigger. He couldn't abandon his friends after all.

Susan sends the bird book back to Whistler, who then visits Michael to find out the details of the escape plan. They watch Sucre bury Nieves. Every body is sprayed with Kesslivol, a chemical that kills the odor of decomposition. And when heated to a certain degree – as it can be by, say, Sucre surreptitiously spraying it on an electric fence – it can corrode steel.

Linc visits Michael; the escape deadline is tomorrow. Linc needs to arrange a getaway vehicle for 3pm – the only way to avoid the military jeeps is to be able to see them, so they need to escape in broad daylight.

A new inmate, Andrew Tyge, sees Michael and Whistler talking. He recognizes one of them. Michael asks McGrady for a watch and binoculars. Michael outlines his escape plan to Whistler; but first, he needs to get to know the guards better to find out their weaknesses. Whistler's cell overlooks the other guard's tower; Michael asks him to observe him all day, and gives him one half of the binoculars.

An impatient Susan is looking at a blueprint of a large building and labeling it with numbered post-its – steps in a plan?

Sucre is approached by Lechero's cousin, Augusto – he had an arrangement with the previous gravedigger to smuggle things into Sona. He'll give Sucre $5000 to do this just once. Sucre agrees.

Sister Mary Francis can't be found by the soldiers; T-Bag hides her and promises to keep her safe. He seems to have a genuine affection for her.

Whistler tells Lechero he's punishing the wrong man; Lechero must know he has enemies in the government. Lechero is offended at the notion that he would favor the rich and aristocratic. When he was 13, his mother, a maid, was raped by her wealthy employer. He got away with it – but young Norman dressed as a milkman – a "lechero" - and got into the man's gates and killed him. Whistler says he's in here for killing a man who assaulted the woman he loves. Lechero respects this, and agrees to give Whistler time to prove his innocence.

Linc pulls over to investigate; as he gets out of his car, Susan calls to say the photograph is ready. In Hurtado's car, Sofia says okay... so long as Norman doesn't find out. Hurtado, terrified at the thought that he tried to mess with one of Lechero's girls, pulls away. Linc, relaxing, tells Susan there were complications drugging the guard, but they've been taken care of. Susan says the drugs only take an hour to work – why's he drugging the guard now? She hangs up on him and prepares to kill LJ. Just as she's about to do it, Linc calls back and frantically explains about the time switch. Susan suspects a rescue attempt, and hangs up on him again.

As Sucre sprays Tyge's body, Rafael, a co-worker who may have noticed the packages Sucre's been sneaking in, threatens him. Meanwhile, Linc meets with Susan, who tells him LJ's still alive – and hands him an undoctored photo of Sara holding an old newspaper. This will never fool Michael. Linc visits Michael and tells him that Susan knows about the time change. And he finally has to admit that Sara's dead. Michael walks away as Linc begs him to cooperate for LJ's sake. Michael collapses in grief – and then tells Whistler Sara's dead because of him. And he challenges Whistler to a fight to the death.

The escape plan still holds; one guard is drugged and they're leaving when the sun gives them cover from the other guard at 3:13pm. Meanwhile, Lincoln is worried that Whistler won't go quietly at the exchange and is worried about LJ. Sucre has an idea...

But then Sullins says there's a problem with the Panamanians; they'll have to put him up in a hotel for a while.

3:10pm. The grate from the cell window is loose. 3:12pm. Hurtado passes out. Just as the glare comes, though, Sammy returns to his cell to get some cash. Although he notices the loose plaster, he quickly leaves. Michael uses the hammock "ladder" to climb out into No Man's Land, but clouds obscure the sun – there's no more glare. Foiled. Michael climbs back up, just barely avoiding being noticed. But what can they do now? Lechero is starting to wonder where they are. And they have trouble untying the hammock and putting the grate back in. They stash the hammock behind the curtain, a corner of it still attached to the window. Lechero finds Michael and Whistler and forces the fight. The other prisoners will kill both of them if they don't go through with it. Whistler is the first to give in to the inevitability – after all, it's either Michael or him now.

Linc gets the hidden scuba gear, but an apologetic Sofia pulls a gun on him to stop him handing Whistler over. 3:30pm. Susan tells LJ that if there's no escape today, she won't need him as a bargaining chip because they'll all be dead.

The drugged Hurtado is found and roused, just as the hammock falls out the window. The guards see it. Meanwhile, an apologetic Whistler gets the drop on Michael and prepares to bash his skull in with a large stone, when the alarm is sounded. Linc and Sofia are near enough to hear it, and realize that Michael and Whistler didn't make it. Linc hides the scuba gear again; he and Sofia are once again on the same side. Linc calls Susan and tells her that Michael and Whistler are with him. They arrange to meet.

Escamilla, upset that Lechero couldn't keep his men in line, eviscerates Lechero in front of the other prisoners by revealing all the favors he's done for Lechero to keep him in power. T-Bag is hopeful he'll be Lechero's replacement. As Escamilla leaves, Lechero and Sammy realize that Michael's the one who must have tried escaping.

Pike tells Susan that the guards just took a head count; nobody has left Sona today. Sucre reports to Linc that Susan is leaving with LJ. Sucre gets in his car and cuts off Susan's van, letting her plow into him to give Linc time to catch up. Linc punches and disarms her. Agent King, has a hold of LJ. It's a standoff. Finally, Linc convinces Susan to give him one more chance to get Whistler. LJ is safe for now, though he's still her captive. They drive off, and Linc notices several body bags that have fallen out of the back of her van.

He originally told her he needed to be out in seven days; she's not filled with confidence when he says that he may actually still be able to accomplish his goals if he gets out in another couple of days from now, but she agrees to give the Scofield brothers more time. The meeting is overheard by Michael.

Meanwhile, Michael brushes past McGrady, who has new clothes in honor of the fact that his father is coming to visit, and meets with Lincoln, who tells him LJ’s okay and they have four more days. Michael accuses Linc of using him like the Company did.

Susan meets with General Pad Man, who tells her it’s time to end this today – time for "bang and burn." She asks him to reconsider; he refuses. She meets with Whistler at the visitation fence and tells him they have to move today; be ready by 5pm. Whistler thinks it’s suicide. And Susan tells him to kill Michael. She then begins to organize a squad of helicopters.

Michael hides as Sammy arrives to report that more men are defecting; he wants to bring Cristobal into their gang, a wild-eyed, crazy, large man. Lechero agrees to meet with him.

Just as the panel begins, Sullins realizes how far gone Mahone is. Mahone says he can handle it, but he comes across as a ranting, paranoid, conspiracy-theory lunatic.

They find a secret room with Lechero’s private stash of goods. Just as Whistler’s about to shank Michael, Lechero arrives, enters a code to open another door, and leads them to a secret underground tunnel that’s blocked by debris. Time to dig out… or up. To the middle of No Man’s Land. But they’ll need to build a support brace or it’ll collapse and bury them alive. Sammy arrives; Lechero only just manages to hide Michael. Whistler claims to be claustrophobic and tries to leave; Michael asks what he really wants. Just then, Lechero returns. Michael asks for his cell phone to call Linc. Lechero refuses and hurries them out of his room before Sammy returns.
